Harold (Roy) Shipes – Mining and Metallurgical Engineer – President and CEO

Mr. Shipes is a metallurgical and mining engineer who brings a wealth of experience, global perspective and keen sense of shareholder value to the board of Altair Resources. Mr. Shipes has 44 years mining experience in senior positions in base and precious metals production, engineering, and project development management around the world. Mr. Shipes has extensive experience in acquisition and development of projects in the United States, Canada, Peru, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Honduras, Bolivia, Ireland, Mexico and Venezuela. He has served as vice-president and general manager of operations of Southern Peru Copper Corp., one of the largest copper producers in the world, and as chief executive officer and general manager of Ok Tedi Mining Ltd., where he developed one of the largest copper mines in the world without outside contractors, saving shareholders over $500-million. Mr. Shipes is and has been serving as president and chief executive officer of Atlas Precious Metals Inc. since 2003.

Robert J. Naso – BSc, MBA – CFO

A businessman that has been involved in the mining sector for the past 8 years and has experience in construction, day to day operations, project management, contract negotiation and consulting. Mr. Naso brings several years’ experience in senior management in the mining sector and negotiating with foreign governments successfully in winning tenders in this sector. Mr. Naso also sits on several public companies boards and is instrumental in integrating new development abroad. Mr. Naso spent 2 years in Turkey working as a business consultant based in Istanbul.

Aylin Cecen Aksu – MD, PHD – Independent Director

Dr. Aksu is a mining consultant presently living in Turkey. Dr. Aksu has, over the last six years, been a consultant and adviser to several Canadian and Chinese mining companies looking to source mining projects in Turkey and the Balkans. Dr. Aksu introduced Altair to the Crepulje project in Kosovo.

Nick Demare – Corporate Secretary

Mr. DeMare, holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of British Columbia and is a member in good standing of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia. Since May, 1991, Mr. DeMare has been the President of Chase Management Ltd., a private company which provides a broad range of administrative, management and financial services to private and public companies engaged in mineral exploration and development, gold and silver production, oil and gas exploration and production and venture capital. Mr. DeMare currently serves as an officer and director of other public reporting companies.

Advisory Board

Zahir (Zip) Dhanani – Chairman Advisory Board

Mr. Dhanani has over 20 years’ experience in the Canadian mining industry with extensive background in strategic planning, venture capital, capital structure, capital markets, business development, acquisitions and divestments. He has been active in the private equity arena since 1993, having invested and raised early-round funding in mining (precious and industrial mineral exploration), oil and gas(upstream), and technology (Internet / information, clean) sectors. He has served as an officer, director and financier of a variety of resource and technology companies, with industry experience in industrial minerals and real estate development. Mr. Dhanani has held various senior level executive positions in a number of Public Companies and is currently a Director of Terraco Gold Corp.

Dr. Abo Taheri, PhD

Dr. Taheri is currently Managing Partner of Denna Homes, a company formed in 2005 which is presently developing the billion dollar Selynn Village in the Lower Lynn Valley, of North Vancouver, British Columbia. Dr Taheri brings 35 years of international experience to the Advisory Board. His educational background brought him experience in London, England as well as the United States where he completed his degrees in Environmental Design, Masters of Business Administration and Doctorate of Industrial Management. His work experience also has a broad international base having operated as Chief Executive Officer of 6 international companies. His enduring reputation is acknowledged as one of the top directors in his industry.

Chih (Jeffrey) Yen Zhao.

Mr. Zhao resides in Beijing, China, where he is the president of Beijing HRS Investment Consulting Co. Ltd., an investment banking firm, and a member of Globalscope, a leading group of corporate finance and business advisers operating globally to support clients in cross-border transactions.

Mr. Zhao focuses on mergers and acquisitions, financing and joint venture.

Mr. Zhao was formerly managing director of the Yily Group and the vice-president of Asia Finance Co. Ltd. based in Hong Kong, assisting private investment groups to make investments in China. He was also the former general manager (China division) of ACS Partners Inc. of New York, an investment banking firm, focused on mergers and acquisitions.

Mustafe Havolli

Mr. Havolli has over twenty-five years experience in business and eighteen years as Professor for Orientalism Studies in the University of Pristina, Kosovo. Mr. Havolli is founder and chairman of an Accredited College “Univers” since 2003.

He is also:

  • CEO and main stock holder of “Balkan Group”, a company which mainly deals with real estate and possesses more than 50 million dollars in assets,
  • founder of the company “Magna Food”,
  • and master franchise of international food chain “Goody’s” for the Kosovo market.

In the last five years, Mr. Havolli has been active in the field of Mining in Kosovo, and acts as Altair’s business partner in Kosovo.

Bruce Reid

Mr. Reid is currently the President of Idaho Champion Gold Mines Ltd, a private Gold Exploration Corporation and is also currently the Executive Chairman of Satori Resources a publicly traded Canadian Mining Development Company. He was the CEO, President and Executive Chairman of Carlisle Goldfields, which he founded and financed since 2009. Over the past six years Mr. Reid raised over $30 million while the Company discovered over 5 million ounces of Gold on the Company’s Lynn Lake, Manitoba Project. Carlisle Goldfields was purchased by Alamos Gold in a $75 million takeover earlier this year. Prior to that from 2005-2008 Mr. Reid was one of the Founders, President and CEO of U.S. Silver Corp. where he raised over $75 million to modernize and renovate the Galena Sliver Mine in Idaho and return the asset back to profitability. Prior to that Mr Reid worked as both an Investment Banker and a Mining Analyst in the Canadian Securities industry for a number of prominent firms such as Nesbitt Thompson, Loewen Ondaatje McCutcheon and Yorkton Securities. Mr. Reid brings to the Corporation over 35 years of extensive experience in Mining Development, Exploration and Corporate Finance. His background also includes an Honours B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Toronto in 1979 and a Finance degree from the University of Windsor in 1982.

Christoph Brüning

Mr. Brüning is the principal of Value Relations GmBH who are currently providing investor relations services to the Company. Mr. Brüning has extensive experience in the capital markets and in financial media with an emphasis on the German market. Mr. Brüning has listed over 500 companies on the Frankfurt Exchange and has helped over 100 Canadian companies to access the European markets.

A. Paul Gill

Mr. Gill has been involved in creating and restructuring organizations for 20 years. He is currently CEO of AJS Management Corp, Lomiko Metals and Lomiko Technologies as well as a Director at Graphene 3D Lab, a Director of Graphene Energy Storage Devices and an advisor to private customers as a management consultant. He was a founder, Director and active participant in the dynamic growth stage of Norsemont Mining from 2001-2006. With Norsemont Mining, he first served as President & CEO in 2003-4 as vice-, CFO and VP Business Development. In 2011, Norsemont was purchased by HudBay Minerals at a $512 million valuation and the core property, Constancia, was commissioned in 2015 and is an operating 30,000 tonne per day copper-molybdenum mine.

Jeffrey Steiner

Mr. Jeffrey Steiner is a senior executive, board director and lawyer involved in real estate, the film & TV industry, the mining sector and early-stage angel investment. He leads New Franchise Media Inc., which was formed to create film & television productions based on the best-selling novels of Jeffrey Archer. Mr. Steiner is also a member of the board of directors of Export Development Canada which had net income of C$925 million in 2015. He is also Co-Chair of the newly formed joint Canada-United Arab Emirates Business Council.

Mr. Steiner previously served as the President and CEO of the Toronto Economic Development Corporation from 2002 to 2009 which focused on real estate and industrial development and in-bound investment promotion. Jeff has a unique combination of business and public policy experience with a keen interest in how the public and private-sectors can work together in job creation, R&D, infrastructure and other strategic investments. Jeff served for several years on the board of the Ontario Centres of Excellence, including Chair of its Governance Committee, primarily focused on the commercialization of university-based R&D. He is now assisting the start-up and angel investor community by serving as President (part-time) of the Network of Angel Organizations (Ontario). Jeff is an Advisory Board member of SEB Inc., plus Tirex Resources and Arian Resources, both exchange-listed mining companies.

Brownfield property development and waterfront revitalization. Municipal re-zoning and Tax Increment Finance. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), regulated industries, aboriginal affairs, gaming regulation, regional economic development, risk management and environmental stewardship.

George Cavey

Mr. Cavey is a senior consulting geologist with over 40 years of experience, since 1982 he has been the President of OreQuest Consultants, a company providing geological consulting to resource companies, both public and private companies. Mr. Cavey has supervised mineral exploration projects throughout North, South, and Central America as well as Europe and Africa since 1982. He has authored or been involved in, the writing of hundreds of geological reports for Canadian junior resource companies’ prospectus and/or public financing documents.

He is past president of the Canadian Council of Professional Geoscientists and was the recipient of the 2004 C.J. Westerman Memorial Award – BC’s highest recognition award for a professional geoscientist for his outstanding and professional contributions. Mr Cavey was the recipient of the 2010 Canadian Professional Geoscientist Award – the highest recognition award for a professional geoscientist in Canada. In addition, Mr. Cavey has acted as a consultant to both the BC Securities Commission and the TSX Venture Exchange in matters relating to 43-101 mining and mineral exploration disclosure issues from 2001 until present. He is currently a member of the Canadian Securities Administrators Mining Technical Monitoring and Advisory Committee.

Mr. Cavey was VP Exploration for Orko Silver Corp and was directly involved in the discovery of the 265 million ounce La Preciosa silver deposit in Mexico. Orko Silver was acquired by Coeur Mining in April 2013 for $380,000,000. Mr. Cavey is an officer and director of OK2 Minerals Ltd., a new junior resource company focused on exploration in northern BC.

Dr. Elezaj Zenun

Dr. Zenun is a Professor in Faculty of Geosciences in Mitrovica and is a member of the Geological Society of Kosovo and considered an expert in the Geology of Kosova, Deep Drilling, Engineering Geodynamics and Environmental Geology. Dr. Zenun has worked for the Ministry of Economic Development as the Director of the Mining Department and has been a leading consultant on large scale development projects from 2014 to present. He was also a Board Member of the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals of Kosovo where he oversaw the creation of a geochemical stream sediment data base of Kosovo with corresponding maps for mineral exploration,and collected and analysed archived geological information on Kosovo under the European Union funded Geochemical Survey.
